How Cavitation Fat Melting Works

To melt away fat and cellulite, an ultrasound is used on targeted areas to emulsify fat cell membranes. This releases the fat where it then evaporates through sweat glands. What doesn’t evaporate is introduced into the liver and lymphatic system where it is processed and removed via urination. Fat cavitation reshapes the body as liposuction does but without invasion. This is a nonsurgical procedure.

How Cavitation Fat Melts Reduces Wrinkles and Tightens Skin

Using the ultrasound to the patient’s advantage, we couple it with radio-frequency to heat targeted areas up to 100-degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t panic. The head is transmitted underneath the skin so you won’t feel burning. The heat contracts collagen fibers, which tightens the skin instantly and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. The radio-frequency also improves your skin’s elasticity.

The Procedure Itself

Before your ultrasound fat cavitation and radio-frequency treatment, we will meet with you to discuss your problem areas. We will determine a reshaping plan and then schedule your appointment. For 48 hours prior to your treatment, avoid:

  • Tanning
  • Junk food
  • Dehydration
  • Alcohol
  • Caffeine
  • Diuretics

The treatment itself is much like an ultrasound. We will apply a gel to protect your skin and then use the ultrasound and radio-frequency to target the designated areas. We will move the device in a circular motion for 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fat layer and size of the target area. Once done, you will notice immediate results but it will take several days for the full effect.

After treatment, do the same as you did prior to treatment for 72 hours and add the following to help aid with fat release:

  • No hot showers, baths or saunas
  • Eat healthy, engage in aerobic exercise, and drink plenty of water
  • Have a lymph massage
  • Try to maintain a healthy, stress-free lifestyle

We know the last bullet point is easier said than done, but stress increases body fat. One nice thing about this treatment option is it isn’t stressful. Patients report they rarely feel anything during the treatment. You might feel warmth and your ears might ring a little, but both of these effects stop once the treatment is complete. If things get too hot, we’ll add more gel to protect your skin.
